Words from our Superintendent

Dear families:

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.  It is an honor to serve as the Interim Superintendent of Schools for SAU 56.  Here in SAU 56 we take great pride in the diversity of our students, our excellent quality of life, and the support we receive from our communities.

As a passionate advocate for public schools, I believe that locally elected school boards working with a myriad of individuals, including the faculty, staff, parents, and community leaders provide essential leadership for ensuring student success. This vision of equity and excellence for every child is one of my incontrovertible beliefs and is foundational to the work done here in SAU 56. I believe in the extraordinary potential of every child in our schools.  Ensuring that each child succeeds requires everyone to work collaboratively.  I am committed to provide graduates with the skills necessary for their success in college and career and to enable them to become a contributing citizen.

The opportunities provided to students here are diverse, including a rigorous academic curriculum, extensive career and technical opportunities, and exploration of the arts and humanities.  Students are challenged to think critically and deeply about issues preparing them to become global citizens as well as to understand the importance of becoming an informed individual, one who contributes to our society and understands the importance of compassion and the democratic welfare of others.

One of the greatest assets in each district is the staff, who individually and collectively are committed to providing all students with a world class education.  We attract and retain some of the best teachers in New Hampshire and quite possibly, New England.

The 2017-2018 school year holds much promise for our students.
